I purchased 2 of these to extend the run of a couple of HDMI out cameras. I have had a bit of trouble with this sort of thing in the past but they worked just fine.

Because I work with long camera cable runs (mainly at sports stadiums) the addition of a confidence input and output LED is a great way to know whether the device is acting as it should.

The converter had no problem converting HDMI to SDI even in domestic style cameras. It even converted a signle coming out of a Go Pro for a longer run.
